The Beginning and the End is a short fiction film made in January 2025 by director Daniela Israel (Doctor in Cultural Processes), a production by Bactéria Filmes and distributed by Contágio Distribuidora. Unreleased at festivals, the film marks Emma's debut in a post-apocalyptic universe, confronting personal losses with existential threats. With photography direction by Lívia Pasqual, soundtrack by Chico Pereira and a strong cast (Maria Galant, Diego Freitas and Aline Szpakowski), the 7'45" short offers a visceral meditation on what makes life worth living when everything has fallen apart. A work that balances science fiction with humanist drama.
