Mais informações:
Using a universal theme—a family drama—the film explores the reality of the vast middle class in the city of Novo Hamburgo in a fresh, unprecedented way. In the late 1990s, the local footwear industry faced a major crisis, forcing many business owners to close their companies and resulting in widespread unemployment. The film examines the family dynamics affected by this crisis: what are the consequences—for both parents and children—of losing one’s social status? What goals do the children come to pursue? What advice do the parents decide to give? Family connections are shaped by the choices and responsibilities of the older generation and the younger generation's reaction to the financial and emotional inheritance they receive. This theme is addressed in a novel way, grounded in the local reality of Novo Hamburgo and by exploring the same spaces and characters across different time periods.
